Circle Stereo Shipping Policy

It is critical that your machine be packed properly before it is shipped to us. If you are so fortunate as to have the original box, then by all means use it. The original box has the inserts and will always be the more secure method of shipping. In order both to prevent damage in transit, as well as to make sure that any insurance claims go smoothly, we require that everything be double boxed. The best way to do this is to use a second box that leaves approximately 3 inches on all sides for packing peanuts. Claims on shipping insurance have been denied or ignored in cases when the item was only singly boxed.

If you do not have the original box, I recommend that you go to a pack-and-mail store. They can do a quality, professional job of the packing.

If you are packing the unit yourself, we recommend large-guage bubble wrap surrounding the unit thoroughly. Any space remaining in the inner box should be filled with packing peanuts. We prefer that clear tape NOT be used on clear bubble wrap. When you use tape a different color from the bubble wrap, the chances we will be able to safely reuse your bubble wrap are increased.

If you are sending a turntable, avoid sending bases or dust covers. If the platter is removable, then pack it in its own bubble wrap. The same holds for the headshell and counterweight. Be certain that nothing in the box is loose, especially the platter. Serious damage occurs when loose things move around during shipping.

We prefer to be sent only the accessory items necessary for the repair process. If you're unsure what we need, please ask, and we'll tell you what you really need to send along.

Once all of this is done, please be certain to insure the unit for a suitable amount.

Include inside the box an envelope with all of your personal data. Note that even if we have spoken with you recently, we need to be certain of having the necessary data to book you into the computer, and to connect your unit with your contact information. In the envelope, include the basic service charge in the form of a check or money order. If you live in Texas, it will be $64.90, if not then the non-taxed amount is $59.95. If you prefer to use a card, leave a note to that effect and we can get the number over the phone. Please DO NOT email your credit card information to us.

Please note that if you ship your machine in substandard packing, we will return it to you in new packing at your expense. Note also that if your box arrives with obvious significant damage, we will refuse it. This will make it less complicated for you to deal directly with the shipper.
